The default number of posts visible on a WordPress index page is 10. I think it looks better, and serves my purposes better if only the most recent post is visible, and each post is seen on its own separate page.

This tutorial video is another in a series of instructional presentations I will be making on how to build an effective website on the WordPress platform. Next time: How to use Widgets to add your most recent posts to your sidebar.
