Need Search Engine Optimization Help?

This is just a short update to let you know about some changes that have happened, not simply regarding search engine optimization but also with pre-written blog posts. Those inexpensive posts I wrote about in the previous post are no longer available, so I have deleted the links which were no longer working.

I originally created this blog as to go along with a talk I gave to a group of travel writers on how to build an effective website quickly using the wordpress framework. That was more than two years ago, but most of the principles I mentioned back then still hold true.

In February, 2010 I was asked to give a talk about search engine optimization at Douglas College in New Westminster, BC. The class was about freelance writing, and the instructor is one of my colleagues, a travel writer and member of the B.C. Association of Travel Writers.

Since then, two people who have websites but are having trouble getting traffic to visit them have asked me to help them out with SEO. Of course, if you already have your domain name registered, then you are pretty well stuck, as it has been shown that having the main keyword phrase that you want to optimize your site for as part of your domain name is one of the most important factors in optimizing for search engines.
